A referral to Guide Dogs can be made by anyone: the person with low vision or blindness, a family member, a carer or support worker, an optometrist or ophthalmologist, or any allied health personnel e.g. after hospitalisation. Our services include multi-disciplinary functional assessments to determine the most appropriate Orthoptic, Assistive Technology, Early Childhood intervention, Orientation and Mobility, Guide Dog Mobility, and Occupational Therapy supports that a person could use on their journey to greater independence and freedom.     The North & North West Community Legal Service (NNWCLS) is a free legal advice service for EVERYONE living in the New England and north west regions of NSW. While the Service is based in Armidale, they operate an extensive Outreach program that sees their Solicitors travelling to Tamworth twice a month, and to Quirindi and Werris Creek once every month. In fact they have 17 monthly clinics operating in 12 towns throughout their extensive catchment. The Service can assist you with legal advice through a face to face or telephone appointment. If you’re unable to go to them, their friendly Solicitors will meet with you at your home/nursing home/hospital. NNWCLS’s goal is to remove any barrier ensuring that everyone has access to the legal system. The Service also offers free legal education to organisations and community groups.   • Northcott Early Childhood

    The NDIS early childhood approach allows families and carers of children under nine who have a developmental concerns, developmental delay or disability to access timely, targeted and individualised early childhood support for their child. Northcott will be your first point of contact. We support families who wish to better understand their child’s support needs, identifying the most appropriate response to address those needs. Early supports may include access to information, direct provision of early intervention strategies, family-based education and parenting support and linkages to community and mainstream services.     Conditions of Entry


    Links for Life Disability Expo is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment for everyone.


    By entering the Expo, attendees, stallholders, support workers, carers, volunteers and guests agree to the following Conditions of Entry.


    General Conditions

    Entry to Links for Life Disability Expo is FREE.

    All attendees must follow reasonable directions provided by Links for Life volunteers, event organisers, security and venue staff.

    Respectful behaviour is expected at all times. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threatening behaviour or abuse towards another person will not be tolerated.

    Links for Life and venue management reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a person to leave where their behaviour impacts the safety, comfort or wellbeing of others.

    Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult while attending the Expo.

    Assistance animals are welcome.

    Wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters and other mobility aids are welcome throughout the Expo.

    Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue.

    Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons or dangerous items are not permitted within the Expo.

    Emergency exits, accessible pathways, entrances and walkways must remain clear at all times.

    In the event of an emergency, attendees must follow the directions of venue staff and event organisers.

    Stallholders

    Links for Life Disability Expo does not permit the sale of products or services at the event. The Expo is an information, connection and community focused event.

    Stallholders may provide information, demonstrations, promotional materials and information about their organisation or services from within their allocated stall.

    Promotion or solicitation by businesses or organisations that are not registered stallholders is not permitted within the Expo.

    Stallholders must keep all displays, equipment and promotional materials within their allocated space and ensure surrounding walkways remain clear and accessible.

    Stallholders are responsible for the conduct of their staff and representatives while attending the Expo.

    It is the expectation of Links for Life that all stallholders and their representatives hold a current Working With Children Check where required and appropriate in accordance with their organisation’s policies, procedures and applicable requirements.

    Each participating organisation remains responsible for ensuring its representatives meet its own safeguarding, screening and compliance obligations.


    Photography & Filming

    Photography and filming may take place throughout Links for Life Disability Expo for promotional, media and event purposes.


    We understand that not everyone is comfortable being photographed or filmed. Attendees are encouraged to speak with a Links for Life volunteer if they do not wish to appear in event photography.


    Visitors and stallholders taking their own photographs or videos must respect the privacy and dignity of others and seek permission before photographing or filming another person, particularly children and people receiving support.


    Accessibility & Inclusion


    Links for Life is an inclusive event welcoming people of all abilities, families, carers, support workers and members of our wider community.


    Accessible facilities are available at the venue, and our team will do everything reasonably possible to help attendees participate comfortably and safely.


    If you require assistance during the event, please speak with one of our Links for Life volunteers.


    Personal Responsibility


    Attendees participate in the Expo at their own risk and are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves, their belongings and any person in their care.


    Any accident, injury, hazard or safety concern should be reported to a Links for Life volunteer or venue staff member as soon as possible.
